Drummond Castle stands on a rocky outcrop near Crieff, where a 1630 sundial still marks time beside ancient yew hedges from a seventeenth-century garden. John, 1st Lord Drummond built the keep around 1490, and later owners shaped the grounds into one of Scotland’s grand formal spaces. Queen Victoria walked those terraces in 1842, planting a beech tree that still lives, while the castle itself remains closed, guarding its history behind stone walls.
