A fountain erected as a memorial to Dr. Alexander Johnston (1837-1904) of Bridge House, North Mall, '[for] 40 years Medical Officer of Westport', representing an interesting component of the early twentieth-century commemorative architectural heritage of County Mayo (cf. 50011032: Cavendish Row, Dublin).
