What is recorded here

Dorothy Macardle was born in Dundalk, County Louth, in 1889 into the wealthy brewing family behind Macardle's Ale. Her childhood sat inside a house divided between a Catholic Home Rule father and an Anglican unionist mother, forcing her to hold two Irelands before she could choose one. That tension later sharpened into republicanism, history writing and a lifelong refusal to accept that women must remain decorative inside politics.
