Dornoch, Castle Street, K6 Telephone Kiosks are 1935 red boxes still standing on the Highland edge. They turned strange distance into immediate speech, pulling far people into the same breath at once. Castle Street has probably heard a thousand urgent voices through those small doors, each one believing the other could still hear them.
