What is recorded here

Dolmen is a passage tomb in Carrowmore (carbury By.), County Sligo, Ireland. George Petrie visited in August 1837 and counted twelve stones, though five had recently been removed. W.G. Wood-Martin recorded an unsuccessful excavation half a century later, and the Ordnance Survey listed only four supporting stones and a hollow in 1940.

Portal dolmen; Neolithic period (c. 3500–2500 BCE). Part of the significant Carrowmore megalithic complex, one of the earliest and most important Neolithic burial sites in Ireland.
