Dickie Rock

Dickie Rock was born on the North Strand in Dublin in 1936, the boy who became the voice of the Miami Showband and carried Irish showband music into number one charts and Eurovision before retiring at eighty-four. He sang through decades of fevered crowds, lost his wife Judy to illness in 2022, and died in Dublin in 2024, returning to Cabra where he had grown up.
