Diamond War Memorial

Diamond War Memorial rises almost forty feet of bronze and Portland stone on The Diamond in Derry, bearing the names of citizens lost in World War I and World War II. Vernon March sculpted the winged victory holding a laurel wreath, while his brother Sydney helped design the whole monument. The city argued over the site and waited years for funds, yet the finished form still catches light like a promise kept.
