What is recorded here
Dermot Sheriff was born in Dublin in 1920 and represented Ireland at the 1948 Summer Olympics, where he played basketball against the world's best. That distant court may have felt vast and unfamiliar, yet he carried a small corner of Dublin into the global game. His life later ended in Athlone in 1993, but the Olympic moment still belongs to the city that made him.
