Granias Bed is a court tomb in County Mayo, Ireland. The name suggests a giant's sleeping place, yet the stones belong to ordinary ancestors whose names have vanished. They built a chamber large enough for the whole tribe to gather around the dead, then walked away into history. The bed remains empty, waiting for someone to remember why it was made.
