David Plunket, 1st Baron Rathmore died in Greenore, County Louth, Ireland on 22 August 1919. The Irish lawyer and Conservative politician left London offices behind to end his life in that northern place, perhaps seeking quieter air after decades of public argument. His body crossed back to Putney Vale Cemetery, but his final breath belongs to Greenore.
