What is recorded here

David Craig, born in County Dublin in 1929, became the last surviving five-star officer in the British Armed Forces through a career that spanned fast jet combat and supreme defence command. He entered Radley College during the war years, captained its rugby team and later headed the school before joining the Royal Air Force as a pilot. His rise from squadron commander to Chief of the Defence Staff during the Gulf War turned a young Dublin boy into a central figure in modern British military history.
