Culzean Castle was built in the 18th century by the Kennedy family, specifically commissioned by Robert Kennedy, 4th Earl of Cassilis, and completed in the early 19th century under the design of architect Robert Adam. It is important as a prominent example of Scottish neoclassical architecture and as a historic seat of the Kennedy family, later becoming a National Trust for Scotland property.
