What is recorded here

Half a metre of stone, no taller than a man’s forearm stretched upward, stands in a small cairn on the north side of the oratory at Reachlainn Uí Bhirn. A cross has been painted on one face, perhaps marked later rather than cut in anger or haste. Pilgrims may have touched it, bowed before it or simply passed it while rounding the holy place, giving the slab a life larger than its size.

Described by Herity (1995, 99, 09) as follows: ‘On the north side of the oratory [DG089-018005-], a slab 50cm high by 22cm wide by 3cm thick stands in a small cairn of stones.
