Kilkea Demesne holds a limestone cross-slab marked with a fleur-de-lys cross, four segmented circles and a small cross in the upper right corner. It lies at the east end of the church, its base missing but its symbols still clear enough to stop a visitor mid-step. The stones have watched fields, prayers and forgetting pass above them, keeping one sharp piece of identity behind the dirt and grass.

Described in the Urban Survey (Bradley et. al. 1986, 287) as ‘Lying on the ground at the E end of the church (KD037-017003-) is a limestone slab decorated in low false relief with a fleur-de-lys cross. The stem of the cross is incised but the base is missing. The head of the cross is surrounded by four segmented circles and there is a cross crosslet in the upper right corner’ (Fitzgerald 1899-1902, 248).
