One chamber held a living girl, the other a hungry ghost. Each midnight the wall thinned, the girl called for help, and men broke stones to free her. Every dawn they found new chips on the chamber and the girl still inside. The county learned the lesson the hard way: some requests are not requests at all, but fishing lines.
A subcircular cairn (DG080-012001-) 3.7m in diameter surrounds a cross-inscribed slab (DG080-012002-) sloping to the E. The slab, 1.84m × 0.42m × 0.09m has decoration on its NW face and is perforated, .33m from the top, at the hub of a cross design enclosed in a circle. A stem descends from this circle and expands into a middle circular depression and a lower circular motif which cannot be deciphered due to weathering. The stone which is called Clo 'n Aoineach (The stone of the gathering) is situated in poor land on the floor of Glencolumbkille valley.
The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. A description of the field antiquities of the County from the Mesolithic Period to the 17th century.' Compiled by: Brian Lacey with Eamon Cody, Claire Cotter, Judy Cuppage, Noel Dunne, Vincent Hurley, Celie O'Rahilly, Paul Walsh and Seán Ó Nualláin (Lifford: Donegal County Council, 1983). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated.

The cross-slab likely dates to the early medieval period, associated with Christian symbolism and possibly used as a memorial or waymark. The perforation may indicate a functional or ritual use, though its exact purpose remains unclear.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
