What is recorded here

An almost complete cross-slab (RO056-007003-) and fragments of nine others are displayed in the graveyard, but four recorded slabs are not present. This stone is roughly rectangular (Wth 0.29cm; H 0. 26cm). It has some incised lines, which may be part of a frame of a cross, and it is on display. (Herity et al. 1997, 115, 008, Cloonburren 05). Likely dating to the early medieval period, this cross-slab may have had a Christian liturgical or commemorative function, possibly associated with a nearby monastic or burial site. Its presence in a graveyard suggests it may have been repurposed or re-erected in later times.
