What is recorded here
Killelane burial ground on the western slopes of Knocknahoran holds two cross-slabs, grave mounds and the faint trace of an older circular enclosure. One stone rises sixty-six centimetres, bearing a Latin cross with slightly widened ends on its southern face. People may have walked this steep ground for generations, marking death and memory before written records reached the valley. The slab still stands where the slope drops away, quiet and unbroken.
