Cross-slab in Church Island (iveragh By., Castlequin Ed)

National Monument No. 59. Cross-Slabs: (2) (KE079-032017-) This rough slate slab has a straight top and a roughly pointed base and measures .97m x .4m x .7m thick. Two horizontal grooves, the upper one curving, are connected by a central vertical groove and emanate from two pairs of opposed notches at the edges of the slab. The design appears to be unfinished. The slab was found re-used as a covering-slab in the drain of the circular stone house. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
