Cinn Aird Thoir holds a limestone block whose deeply incised cross still marks grave number 394. The stone is not a grand monument, but a sharp-cut answer to forgetting. Whoever placed it understood that love often becomes chisel work, pressing itself into hard material so it cannot be erased by rain or time.

In 2011 a graveyard survey carried out by Ann Frykler and Robert Hanbidge of Headland Archaeology Ltd. recorded the following details about a cross-inscribed stone (Miscellaneous No. 05): ‘Limestone block with deeply incised cross forming gravemarker to Grave No. 394’ (Hanbidge 2011, 12).
