What is recorded here

In 2011, Ann Frykler and Robert Hanbidge of Headland Archaeology Ltd recorded a single gravemarker in Cinn Aird Thoir with T O carved on its south elevation. The letters are less clear, possibly the initials of the person buried beneath. That unknown life still rests inside the stone, waiting for recognition.

In 2011 a graveyard survey carried out by Ann Frykler and Robert Hanbidge of Headland Archaeology Ltd. recorded the following details about a cross inscribed stone No. 183: ‘Single gravemarker with a carved T O on south elevation. Grave No. 183 had the letter ‘T O’ carved on one side which is less clear and may possibly represent the initials of the person who’s grave it marks‘ (Hanbidge 2011, 11).
