Cross in Unknown Townland

Cross

What is recorded here

Granite still stands in Donnybrook Village, its cross-base buried beside a broken wall while ordinary life moves around it. The stone may have marked prayer long before the village had a name, yet it survives without explanation or praise. People walk past it as if forgetting death, but the granite remembers every promise made in darkness.
There is a granite cross-base of probable Early Christian date standing by a wall fragment in the middle of the graveyard in Donnybrook Village.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
