Cross

What is recorded here

According to Killanian and Duignan (1967, 144) and Reynolds (1975, 88) at Tinvane House, now called Cedarfield Guesthouse, there is the fragment of a stone cross from Kilcreggane graveyard (WA005-011----) Co. Waterford 'bearing Leonard arms'. There have been several changes of ownership of this house since 1975. The present owners knew nothing of this stone cross fragment. It is currently unlocated. The fragment of a stone cross at Tinvane, now Cedarfield Guesthouse, is associated with Kilcreggane graveyard in County Waterford and is likely of early medieval origin. Its style suggests a Christian high cross, possibly 8th- to 10th-century, though specific builder or dedication details are not recorded.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
