The high cross at Lugduff, Ballinacor North, was likely erected by a local Christian community in the early medieval period, probably between the 8th and 11th centuries. It is associated with the nearby ecclesiastical site of Temple na Skellig and reflects a typical Irish high cross style, often used for preaching or as a focal point for worship; its survival contributes to understanding the spread of Christianity in west Cork.
