Cromlechs hides beneath rough Clare pasture, reducing a named megalthic site to an invisible slab on smaller stones. Westropp dismissed it as a possible tomb in 1902, yet the 1921 map still claims the name while three neighbouring structures and a cairn circle the hidden place. The land may be swallowing what human hands arranged, keeping its shape only in survey lines and forgotten certainty.

In generally level, rough pasture, with rock outcrop close to the surface and a low drystone field boundary adjacent to E. Described by Westropp (1902-04, No. 10d, 100) as a ‘slab….on several smaller stones….may be artificially placed….cannot be accepted as a megalithic tomb.’ Named as ‘Cromlechs’ on the 1921 edition OS 6-inch map. Not visible at ground level. The site of three other megalithic structures (CL035-045002-, CL035-045003- and CL035-045005-) are close to E, S and W respectively, and the site of a cairn (CL035-045004-) is to SW.
