Crannoge Fort

Known as Crannog Fort the site comprises of a subcircular area enclosed by a low earthen bank less than 1m high. There are possible traces of a fosse on the W side. It is situated on a heather-covered hillside. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal. Crannoge Fort, Tully More is a subcircular early-medieval ringfort, likely dating to between the 5th and 10th centuries AD, characterized by a low earthen bank and a possible fosse on its western side. Local tradition and folklore associate such sites with the Otherworld, and they are often linked to tales of fairies or ancient druidic activity.
