CRANNOG is a crannog in Tawnyreagh, County Fermanagh, recorded for the medieval and later periods. It stands as a made island, likely built from earth and rubble thrown into shallow water until a dry place emerged. People may have stood there in rain while elsewhere drowned, looking out across the bog like small gods.
