Crannog in Saleen is an artificial island in County Mayo, Ireland. The water likely bit into the land before hands raised the earth, creating a small dry place where the lake wanted to drown everything. People may have stood there at sunrise, watching mist leave the reeds and carry their shadows across the bay.
