Crannog in Magonragh stands as a scheduled ancient island in County Fermanagh, preserving a life lived above water rather than beside it. The name itself admits the shape: a crannog, a made or chosen island where people placed homes, hearths and risk beyond the reach of ordinary flood. What is recorded is small, but the image is not small. A man could stand there in rain and watch the land disappear around him, leaving only a circle of stone, soil and memory.
