Crannog in Lough Rea

Crannog

What is recorded here

Crannog in Lough Rea stands in County Galway, a man-made island where people built homes above the water. The lake hides its wooden foundations beneath reeds and silt, preserving a life lived close to the surface of the world. To stand beside it is to remember that human hands can shape even a wild place into a room for living.
