Crannog in Lough Oughter

Crannog

What is recorded here

Crannog in Lough Oughter, County Cavan, is an artificial island built in ancient times. People may have lived there, farmed there or hidden there when trouble came. The water closed over the wood and stones, but the shape remains beneath the surface.
