What is recorded here

CRANNOG in Kilturk North, County Fermanagh, is a crannog, an artificial island dwelling or platform built in lake country across Europe and Britain. The official record places it in the early Christian and medieval periods, when wetland life depended on reading water, reed and season. A crannog is not a monument to be admired from a distance. It is a home made visible only because people stood on it, breathed on it and left it behind.
