According to Westropp (1916-7, 22) there are several crannogs 'on the eastern shore of the lake, below the modern castle of Dromore'; this lake is Dromore Lough. There is also a report of crannogs in the area between Dromore and Bleach Lough (NMI). The exact location of these monuments is not known.
