Cuillaun in gallen By.,killaturly holds a crannog, an artificial island built among reeds and water. The exact age and builders have not survived to modern memory, but the shape remains clear: people raised land where none existed and lived beside the lake rather than above it. Crannog is not a grand castle or a polished monument. It is a small act of will, forcing nature to make room for human life.
