What is recorded here

Crannog in Ballyballinaun stands in County Mayo as an artificial island, likely built by raising earth and rubble above wet ground so people could live, keep animals or pray while staying clear of flooding and raiders. The water would have touched its base at once, forcing every choice into depth, balance and breath. It is not a grand castle or a noisy market, but a small defiant room set inside the landscape, still asking whether courage or desperation first shaped it.
