Craigievar Castle stands as a seven-storey harled tower in Aberdeenshire, completed in 1626 by William Forbes, the merchant nicknamed Danzig Willy. The Forbes family lived inside its walls for 350 years, filling the rooms with plaster ceilings that display the Nine Worthies and family emblems. They held the place until 1963, when the 19th Lord Sempill sold it to the National Trust for Scotland.

Craigievar Castle was built by the Forbes family in the early 17th century, with construction beginning around 1600. It is important as a fine example of Scottish Baronial architecture and is one of the most photographed castles in Scotland due to its distinctive turreted design and prominent position in the landscape.
