Clonmakane holds a Neolithic court tomb where ancient people shaped local stone before written history. The chamber still lies within County Derry, marked as a scheduled archaeological site rather than hidden beneath a modern road. Its stones may have served birth, death, feast or prayer, yet no surviving name preserves the hands that built them.
