Mud and memory collide where the Tullyheran fort still holds its shape against the Derry sky. The counterscarp cuts a shallow throat into the land, suggesting water once flowed there to keep intruders at a distance. People may have watched the horizon from that ridge, reading storm and threat in the same breath. The earth remembers the shape of human fear long after the names have faded.
