COUNTERSCARP RATH & Man-made underground passage in Lisdrumchor Upper

COUNTERSCARP RATH & Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

Counterfort humps and a hidden passage still mark Lisdrumchor Upper, though no date or owner survives in the name. The ground may have served as a fort, a farm or a frontier marker, and the passage may have let people move through rain, darkness or danger without being seen. Whatever it was, it was made with purpose.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as COUNTERSCARP RATH & Man-made underground passage. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
