Corracloona Court Tomb

Corracloona Court Tomb stands on a slope above Lough MacNean, its one chamber and small forecourt built around 2000 BC. The local name, Prince Connell's Grave, belongs to legend rather than history, for the stones predate every known Connell by centuries. Yet the hole in the dividing slab still suggests a doorway: someone may have knelt there, dropped a gift through the stone, and listened for the dead to answer.
