Six bays and three storeys, the Corn Store stands on the north shore of Church Strand Bay in County Cork, its long axis tilted ENE-WSW like a ship beached on purpose. Built to hold grain, it now holds boats, its rooms dark and damp with salt, a slipway cutting along the NNW elevation where hulls still drag free at low water. What was stored for hunger is stored for distance, the function bent but unbroken.
