Conan’s Monument stands in County Clare as an unclassified cairn, yet its true shape and purpose have slipped from official memory. The site may have marked a boundary, a burial or a warning to travellers, but no clear record survives to confirm which. What is certain is that people once gathered stones there and believed the arrangement mattered. The monument still belongs to Clare, even when documentation disappears.
