This blue commemorative plaque records: Tom Osborne Robinson CBE 1904 - 1976. Artist, theatrical designer and patron of the Arts. Robinson worked as a stage scenery and costume designer at Northampton Reparatory Theatre, as well as working on productions at the Old Vic and Stratford Theatres. A champion of young people and the arts, he taught at Northampton Art School and donated works to both the Art School and Northampton Museum & Art Gallery. Robinson lived at 62 Derngate, close to the Royal Theatre, for most of his life. Recorded plaque organisation: West Northamptonshire Council.
