The Battle of Northampton in 1460 was fought between the forces of King Henry VI and the Lancastrians against the Yorkists led by Richard, Duke of York. The Yorkists won a decisive victory, allowing Richard to capture the king and advancing Yorkist claims to the throne, which marked a turning point in the Wars of the Roses.
