Castle Geo on Stroma is a narrow cleft where the Pentland Firth still throws water over rock, and the schooner Columbus struck that edge during the nineteenth century. The name survives in the landscape even though the wooden hull has long since broken into drift and memory. A shipwreck is not a disaster forgotten; it is a boundary the sea keeps repeating, marking the exact place where human confidence stopped.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Columbus: Castle Geo, Stroma, Pentland Firth as Schooner (19th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
