What is recorded here

St. Mary’s Vicars Choral called that crowded Limerick block home, occupying the western half bounded by Nicholas Street, Newgate Lane, Crosbie Row and St. Augustine Place. Bow Lane gave the area its familiar name, while the college gave it a ceremonial voice. Men may have sung, argued, taught or simply lived beside one another there, filling narrow rooms with breath and music. The streets still mark the edges of that forgotten college, waiting for someone to imagine them animated again.

The medieval Vicars Choral of St Mary's Cathedral (LI005-017015-) which Hodkinson (2010, 53) locates 'on the western half of the block delineated by the present day Nicholas Street, Newgate Lane, Crosbie Row and St. Augustine Place which for most of its recorded history was called Bow Lane'.
