Death itself learned patience at Billeragh. When a coffin weighed too heavy for the living hands, the procession stopped, set the dead woman or man upon the flat stone, and waited until the muscles remembered what they had forgotten. The road to Dursey Sound became a place where life and death shared one breath, and the stone still holds that lesson beneath its moss.

On the S side of a road which leads to Dursey Sound. A flat-topped boulder (2m N-S; 1.2m E-W; H 0.7m) on which coffins were temporarily rested during funeral processions to the now closed burial ground (CO126-013----) c. 300m to the SW in Ballaghboy.
