Early nineteenth-century setts having importance as surviving example in reasonable condition, where other similar examples have been lost. They form part of an interesting group with similar nineteenth-century paving schemes. Setts such as these are found in many locations throughout the city, and contribute to the unique character of the city. These paving schemes have in many cases has been replaced or covered with concrete.
