What is recorded here
Cloghan Burial Gd. is a 20th-century graveyard in County Mayo, Ireland, located 30m north of Templeancloghan Church and its older graveyard. It appeared on maps only by 1930, suggesting the community needed more room for the dead as the century grew. The land may have held families who outlived the churchyard, their names lost but their presence still shaping the quiet field.
Located 30m to N of Templeancloghan Church (MAA039-064001-) and graveyard (MA039-064002-). Not indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch maps; indicated on the 1930 edition as ‘Cloghans Burial Ground’. This graveyard dates to the 20th-century.
