What is recorded here

Clochan in Baile Ristín is a low, stony platform beside a ruined drystone pen, not a grand chamber or clear shrine. It may have stored tools, kept small animals, or marked a household edge before people stopped using it. The pen and kerb still suggest ordinary life, while the missing walls remove the certainty of its purpose.

The sub-rectangular 'Cloghane' marked on the OS Fair Plan, about 9m to N, is now represented by a raised, stony platform, 7.5m x 10.3m x a maximum of .4m high. A setting of 3 low stones form a kerb along the SE edge, and in the W sector are the ruined remains of a crudely-constructed, rectangular, drystone-walled 'pen', 2m x 2m. The available evidence is insufficient to allow classification of this feature though it is unlikely to be associated with the standing stones. The above description is derived from J.
