Clochan in An Ghairfeanaigh is a univallate rath on the eastern slopes of Sugarloaf hill, overlooking the steep glen where the Garfinny river cuts through County Kerry. Its irregular stony mound and hidden interior markers suggest a small, defensible settlement rather than a grand palace. People may have watched river traffic or tended hill pasture from that ridge, using the glen’s depth as a natural warning system.

Univallate rath KE043-179---- is situated on the E slopes of Sugarloaf hill, overlooking the steep glen through which the Garfinny river flows at this point. On the OS maps 2 clochauns (KE043-179001- & KE043-179002-) were marked in the interior. An irregular stony mound a little SW of centre probably marks the site of another hut (KE043-179003-).
